The show features 25 selected drawings in graphite from Fuad’s studies. Matter At Hand was planned by the artist as part of his studio requirement for his Ph.D research, as well as another stage for his artist’s journey.
Matter At Hand is supported with a publication, which includes three essays by the artist himself, Dr Mohd Zahuri Khairani (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Shah) and Dr Karna Mustaqim, a professor from Matana University, Tangerang in Indonesia.
The opening night was filled to the brim with art enthusiasts, students and collectors who are interested to know and witness more on Fuad’s understanding and his exploration on the potential of graphite as a medium, and to spark dialogue.
The fun was added that night when spectators and guests alike took part in a mannequin challenge which has become a fad all over the world . Even the artist’s young children were a sport and did not move for quite a bit until the challenge ended 3 minutes later .
All in all the power of art celebrated its mystery that night and engaged an understanding to the world of abstract for all.
An art talk entitled Progress Repost Presentation Making The Grade was also held the next day by the artist himself.
Matter at Hand is on until 25 December 2016.
